Nazareth Catholic Parish Sacramental Preparation Program is for students who do not attend one of our 4 Catholic primary schools (Nazareth Catholic School, St Catherine’s Catholic School, Lisieux Catholic School or St Therese Catholic School) and wish to celebrate the Sacraments of Reconciliation, First Eucharist and Confirmation. Our parish covers the areas of Grovedale, Armstrong Creek, Torquay and Anglesea. This Sacramental Program is for those children who are not attending a Catholic Primary school, reside within our parish and have been baptised into the Catholic Church. In most cases the preparation program is held on Tuesday afternoons at 4.30pm – 5.30pm and is run in support with our parish priest and volunteers.

Confirmation
To prepare and celebrate for the Sacrament of Confirmation your child will have been previously baptised into the Catholic faith and celebrated their Reconciliation and First Eucharist.
The Confirmation preparation program will occur in term 3. The preparation will occur as a1 full day workshop. The date of which has been set for Saturday 30th August with the location still to be determined but will be communicated to all registered candidates closer to the time. This full day preparation is in lieu of the 6 week afterschool program your child may have previously been involved in with our previous Sacraments.
On Wednesday 6th August there is a family formation evening for the candidate and at least 1 parent. This session is held at St Therese Church, Torquay at 6pm with our parish school families also in attendance.
As part of your child’s preparation the Sacrament begins with the Rite of Enrolment Mass which is the weekend of 9th & 10th August.
The Sacrament of Confirmation celebration will be in the evening of Wednesday 3rd September with the location still to be determined.
Each child preparing to celebrate for a Sacrament is asked to make a Sacrament contribution. This fee is $150 and is due by family night – 6th August.
Once you have registered your child, future communication will be emailed to you approximately 3 weeks prior to the start of the program with any further information.
Sacrament Preparation Program Fee
Each family is asked to pay a Sacramental Preparation Program fee. This goes towards the ongoing support of the Sacrament program including but not limited to administration, resources, cleaning and priests stipend, $150 per child.
Payment is required prior to the the family formation evening.
